City Power Johannesburg (Pty) Limited is committed to invest in people development in support of being a world class electricity distributor.

As such we would like to provide opportunities to South African citizens who meet the Employment Equity criteria of the Company, is not older than 25 years of age and with an excellent academic record to apply for bursaries to study a Degree in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current).

Who can Apply?

Undergraduate students studying towards a degree in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) at a University in the Gauteng Province, who meet the admission criteria as set by the Company as well as the qualifying criteria for the degree as set by the University.

Full time Grade 12 students with Physical Science and Mathematics with a minimum symbol B (70%) on higher grade (HG) or symbol A (80%) on standard grade (SG) who meet the admission criteria as set by the Company as well as the qualifying criteria for the degree as set by the University.

Application forms are available from the Reception Areas at City Power Head Office (40 Heronmere Road, Reuven, Booysens) and regional offices / depots in Alexandra; Roodepoort; Lenasia; Bryanston; Midrand; Randburg; Hursthill; Klipspruit. The following documents must accompany your application form:

An application form which is obtainable from the contact details above;
Certified copy of academic transcript (only if you are currently an undergraduate university student);
Certified copy of latest Grade 12 academic report if currently in Grade 12;
Certified copy of Matric certificate if you have completed Grade 12;
Certified copy of South African Identity Document;
Proof of parents’ income (payslip or confirmation of social grants)
Proof of acceptance at a tertiary study institution.
