Asset; Association for Educational Transformation – Bursary application

The closing date for bursary applicationis 31 OCTOBER

Important note for learners in Grade 12
You should apply to the University or University of Technology of your choice as early as possible to avoid disappointment. You should ensure that all examination results from Grade 11 until June/September of Grade 12 are submitted. Late applications cost more and often lead to frustration when you find your chosen course of study is full.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please read this information carefully before you fill in the bursary application form.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Only South African citizens who are resident in the Western Cape are eligible.
  • Students who are in Grade 12 and intend studying for a first degree, diploma or higher certificate are eligible.
  • You must meet the entry requirements for your chosen field of study.

BURSARY APPLICATION

  • Awards are variable and cover a percentage of the cost of tuition, registration and books.
  • ASSET bursaries are not repayable.
  • Bursars are able to access loans to cover the balance and any other costs through a partnership with NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme.) Loans through NSFAS are repayable to NSFAS but up to 40% may be converted to a bursary depending on successful results.
