Various bursaries are available for students to study at University or Universities of Technology studying towards Professional Land Surveyor or Engineering Surveyor, also diploma or degree is Geospatial Information Science.

Financial Assistance is only availble for students to study;

  • National Diploma : Surveying and Cartography

SAGI Trust Fund

The SAGI Trust has been formed and will be in a position to offer bursaries to students, studying towards Professional Land Surveyor or Engineering Surveyor, starting in 2013.  Bursary award amounts are flexible and will be determined by available funds and the particular needs of applicants.
Bursary awards may be renewed on an annual basis, depending on available funding.

MANCO-Aurecon Joint Venture (MAJV)

The MAJV has established a training fund to support the survey, valuation and GIS industries.  Bursaries/scholarships are awarded on an annual basis to deserving students who show good academic abilities.
Bursary amounts are revised annually and are currently (2012) set at R50 000 per annum.  Bursary awards may be renewed on an annual basis, depending on available funding.

Department of Rural Development and Land Reform BursaryThe Department of Rural Development and Land Reform is currently offering bursaries to students who are South African citizens to study in one of the following field:

  • BSc in Geomatics/Land Surveying
  • BSc in Town and Regional Planning
  • National Diploma in Surveying
  • National Diploma in Cartogaphy
  • National Diploma in Town and Regional Planning

The bursary covers registration and university fees, accomodation fees, book allowance, meals and living allowance.

University of Cape Town Scholarships and Bursaries

  • Entrance scholarships are available to new first year students based on merit for Matriculation. No applications are required, this is determined from your application form
